Almost There wins Audience Award at EIDF

A dream week at the EBS Documentary Festival (EIDF) in South Korea for Almost There co-directors Dan Rybicky and Aaron Wickenden has culminated in the film receiving the Audience Award. The filmmakers were there to accept the honor, which followed two successful Asian premiere screenings and a national television broadcast that generated a flood of positive responses online and in-person from viewers receptive to the story of the filmmakers' discovery, curation and caretaking of the life and work of elderly "outsider artist" Peter Anton. Korea's EIDF to host Almost There Asian Premiere

We are delighted to announce the Asian festival and television broadcast premiere of Almost There will take place this August at South Korea's EBS Documentary Festival (EIDF). Almost There is just one of nine "Festival Choice" films selected to screen in official competition at EIDF. Co-directors Dan Rybicky and Aaron Wickenden will travel to Seoul for the festival, attending the screenings on Thursday, August 27th and Sunday, August 30th. We're delighted to learn that the film's title for the Korean audience will be translated to Peter's Fantastic Atelier or Peter's Beyond Imagination Workshop! Continued

Almost There Enjoys International Premiere at Sheffield Doc/Fest

Directors Aaron Wickenden and Dan Rybicky presented the international premiere of Almost There to a sold-out crowd at Sheffield Doc/Fest on June 8. Following this well-received screening, Aaron and Dan held an intimate q&a hosted by Influence Film Club at the Crucible, along with Kartemquin's Director of Communications and Distribution, Tim Horsburgh. Almost There heads to England

Directors Aaron Wickenden and Dan Rybicky will accompany Almost There on its first European foray this week, attending the International premiere at Sheffield Doc/Fest on Sunday June 7 at 8pm. On Monday June 8 at 4pm, Influence Film Club at the Crucible will host an additional q&a, with Dan Rybicky and Aaron Wickenden showing clips from the film. Check out Influence Film Club's excellent Almost There Discussion Guide. The directors will then head south for a special London screening at the new Bertha DocHouse on Wednesday June 10 at 8:30pm.
