Kartemquin and The American Dream

Join us next week at the University of Chicago for a screening of Barbara Kopple's Academy-Award winning film, American Dream (1990) as a part of a series at the Film Studies Center entitled "Human Rights at Home." Gordon Quinn, Peter Gilbert and Jerry Blumenthal helped shoot and record sound for various parts of the film and will be on hand to answer questions about the documentary following the screening.

The film explores the evolution of the medical marijuana debate. Gordon will be talking about his experience working on the acclaimed Mike Shea documentary, And This is Free, with Howard Alk in the 1960's. Then, please join us at the Chicago History Museum for a screening of the film Sunday afternoon at 1:30. The screening is free with Museum admission.
