  • Gordon heads to Scottsdale, AZ

    This weekend Kartemquin's Gordon Quinn will travel to Scottsdale, Arizona to speak to an audience of oncologists about In the Family. The conference, organized annually by the journal Community Oncology, will deal with issues of quality care for cancer patients. Leading a panel entitled, "Living with the Specter of Cancer," Gordon will use clips from In the Family to help clinical oncologists understand the concept of "pre-survivorship" and survivorship more deeply, as well as talk about ways they can be more sensitive to it in their medical practice.

  • Kartemquin Films receives a CityArts Program 3 grant

    We are thrilled and grateful to announce that Kartemquin has received a CityArts Program 3 grant in the amount of $6,000.  This award will be critical in support in supporting our organization's general operations, including the internship program and our community screenings.  Thank you to the City of Chicago for their ongoing support of the arts.

    Kartemquin's Hoop Dreams had a nice mention in today's New York Times in an article about long-time Sundance Festival head Geoffrey Gilmore's transition to Tribeca.  Sundance was instrumental in launching Hoop Dreams and the film was featured in promos at the festival this year celebrating its anniversary.  Read the article.
