The Interrupters wins IndieWIRE's Sundance poll

Kartemquin is happy to announce that The Interrupters came first in an IndieWIRE poll asking "What buzz-heavy 2011 Sundance film are you most excited to see?"

Steve James and Alex Kotlowitz's documentary about violence prevention secured 36.2% of the votes. We would like to say thanks to all who voted and supported the film by posting on Facebook and Twitter! We hope to get the film out to your communities very soon, and will be announcing a number of upcoming festival appearances in the next few weeks.

For now, The Interrupters is able to announce upcoming screenings at Big Pond Adelaide Film Festival (in a double bill with Hoop Dreams), True/False Film Festival and Miami International Film Festival. Get full screening info here.

Watch a great video interview with Steve James and Aaron Wickenden - the editors of the film - taken from Sundance, in which they reveal how they coped with the mad dash to complete the film in time for the festival!
