Chicago, CBS, Little Rock and Sheffield: the latest on The Interrupters

Chicagoans can get two early glimpses of The Interrupters today, either from the comfort of their armchair or by going out to meet the film's co-creators Steve James and Alex Kotlowitz.
Watch CBS News at 6pm tonight to see a clip from The Interrupters in the final episode of Bill Kurtis and CBS2 News' three-part profile of the work of Ceasefire Illinois (watch episodes one and two). Also tonight at 6:30pm, Steve James and Alex Kotlowitz will be discussing their collaboration on the film at the Hide Out in Chicago for Mark Bazer's The Interview Show. Get tickets and info.
The Interrupters then screens this weekend at the Little Rock film festival in Arkansas. Co-Producer Zak Piper will be attending the screenings on Saturday June 4th at 4:40pm and Sunday June 5th at 12pm.
Next week, director Steve James will take The Interrupters to the UK for Sheffield Doc/Fest (screenings June 10 and 11). You can read more about the festival and The Interrupters' upcoming UK release on the website of the film's UK distributor, Dogwoof.
If you're interested in the issues raised by the film, we also recommend reading the Columbus Dispatch's 3-part series on violence prevention, published this week.
