One of our favorite festivals to attend is the Big Sky Documentary Festival in Missoula, Montana. So we're delighted to announce that Kartemquin Board member and filmmaker Maria Finitzo will be at Big Sky this February to pitch her new film In the Game, and Editorial Director Leslie Simmer will be there to represent our award-winning Co-Production As Goes Janesville with director Brad Lichtenstein.
In the Game will be part of the 4th annual International Pitch Session, taking place February 21, 2013 as part of the Big Sky Doc Shop (Feb 18-22), a five day non-fiction industry forum during the ninth annual film festival. Maria Finitzo has re-conceived the documentary to focus on the Kelly High School Girls' soccer team: check out the updated project description.
As Goes Janesville will be screening in competition as an official selection of the 2013 Big Sky Festival. Tickets are on sale now via: http://www.bigskyfilmfest.org/bsdff/festival/tickets/. The film is released on DVD (pre-order now) and VOD on January 28th and is rebroadcast on PBS Independent Lens on February 4th (check local listings).
