Excitement builds for new Iverson doc

Several articles are out this week in anticipation of Kartemquin's No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson including posts in Variety, the Sporting News Blog, and the Teel Time blog on DailyPress.com. Teel's longer followup piece can be read here. No Crossover is directed by Steve James and will premiere this fall on ESPN's 30 for 30 series.
Milking the Rhino now available on Joining the Dots

Milking the Rhino is now available online for international audiences through joiningthedots.tv, a new documentary channel that brings socially concious films - hidden gems and festival winners alike - to a wide audience via streaming. Kartemquin is currently featured on the site's home page with a thoughtful review of the film they find "engaging, surprising, and beautifully entertaining."
For U.S. audiences, Milking the Rhino will soon be available for download on iTunes.
Typeface in the blogosphere

Emmy-award winning Vietnam: Long Time Coming wins again

Vietnam: Long Time Coming recently won "Best Documentary" at this year's Route 66 Film Festival in Springfield, Illinois. The film will screen again on September 19th in Springfield. Get more information.
Typeface TypeCon premiere a success

Just a week ago Typeface held its domestic premiere before an audience of over 300 type enthusiasts at the 2009 TypeCon in Atlanta, GA. After the screening an animated panel discussion ensued with Director Justine Nagan, Jim Moran, printer and curator of the Hamilton museum, and Nick Sherman, a designer who interned there. In the Family in the legal world

At the upcoming ABA 2009 Annual Meeting, the Special Committee on Bioethics and the Law will sponsor the CLE Program Is it in My Family? One Woman's Journey through Genetic Testing.
The session, which impacts a broad range of legal topics, includingfamily law, health law, intellectual property, individual rights andresponsibilities, insurance law, science and technology, and bioethicsand the law, will examine the pros and cons of predictive genetictesting and the effects on individuals and their families.
The July 31st program will feature clips from In the Family and a panel discussion with filmmaker Joanna Rudnick. The film will also screen in its entirety as a part of the ABA Annual meeting on August 2nd.
