Abbie Brewer
Administrative Assistant and Community Coordinator
As Administrative Assistant and Community Coordinator, Abbie works directly with Artistic Director and Kartemquin co-founder Gordon Quinn, as well as providing support to Kartemquin's engagement efforts and filmmaker development programs.
Abbie’s love of nonfiction film started at a young age. She grew up watching Independent Lens and FRONTLINE on PBS and fell head over heels for the craft of telling real people’s stories in a creative and engaging manner.
That same love of nonfiction film led her to a degree in Media Communication/Film and Media Production at Taylor University. While an undergrad, she produced several pieces including her own short documentary titled “When the Game Changes: A Playbook for Perseverance” which was awarded first place at the 2016 College Broadcasters convention and won a student Emmy from the NATAS.
Abbie is committed to telling beautiful and engaging stories that bring people together, spark questions, and ultimately show raw humanity in all of its complexities and nuances.
