Anthony Stoll

Director of Finance and Operations

Prior to joining Kartemquin Films as its Director of Finance and Operations, Anthony owned and operated AJ Stoll & Associates, LLC from September 2009 through November 2015. While there, he provided an array of services for nonprofits including: creating policies and procedures including internal controls, bookkeeping services, financial statement preparation, financial and programmatic assessments and strategic planning. The nonprofit industry quickly learned about his services and as a result, AJ Stoll & Associates, LLC became the largest consultant firm in the state of Illinois working exclusively with nonprofits. Mr. Stoll provided numerous nonprofits the tools, information and resources needed to survive an ever-changing economy. He developed the skill set to provide a quick and accurate financial and program assessment to assist nonprofits to create strategic plans needed for survival.

Prior to opening up his own consulting firm, Mr. Stoll worked at Literacy Chicago as the Director of Finance & Administration for ten years. Mr. Stoll was responsible for administering business department policies, processing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, handling staff benefits and overseeing the operation for the computer network. He then went on to overhaul the existing financial management and record keeping system. He re-designed the chart of accounts, designed new systems for processing and analyzing financial activity and led the effort to bring Literacy Chicago on-line with a fully-networked computer system. However, his greatest contribution to Literacy Chicago was his skill to maintain the financial health of the organization, thus ensuring the continuous quality of the programs offered, while faced with harsh economic realities. Not only did Literacy Chicago survive the economy’s collapse, they continue to flourish today as a result of Anthony's astute financial strategies.

Following the stabilization of the economy, Anthony worked as an adjunct professor for Harold Washington College.

Anthony received a Master of Business Administration degree in June, 2002, from Keller Graduate School of Management and his Bachelor’s of Science in accounting from Roosevelt University. With over 25 years of experience within the nonprofit industry, Anthony is an accomplished professional with proven success in financial operations management. He serves as a board member and treasurer of Diamonds N’ the Ruff, a nonprofit organization, and is the treasurer of a Local School Council (LSC) in his neighborhood. In October 2001, Mr. Stoll was featured as an Unsung Hero in the Chicago Defender newspaper.
