Dogwoof Picks up Sundance-Bound Minding the Gap

Kartemquin is pleased to announce that Dogwoof, the UK's premiere Documentary Distributor and Sales Agent, will handle all foreign sales of Minding the Gap by Bing Liu, which will world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21. Sales in North American territories will be handled by CAA.

Minding the Gap is directed, produced and edited by Bing Liu, produced by Diane Moy Quon, and edited by Joshua Altman. Executive producers are Steve James, Gordon Quinn, Betsy Steinberg, Justine Nagan (for American Documentary | POV), Chris White (for American Documentary | POV) and Sally Jo Fifer (for ITVS). The film is a co-production of Kartemquin Films, American Documentary│POV and the Independent Television Service (ITVS), with funding provided by The Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program.

The film was a recipient of the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival's 2017 Garrett Scott Grant and the 2017 Sundance Institute Documentary Fund Grant. MINDING THE GAPMinding the Gap participated in the Film Independent 2017 Documentary Lab Fellowship and the 2014 Diverse Voices in Docs program operated by Kartemquin Films and the Community Film Workshop of Chicago.

Minding the Gap is the third film in which Dogwoof has worked with Kartemquin, following The Interrupters and Life Itself.

In Minding the Gap, three young men as they bond together to escape volatile families in their Rust Belt hometown. As they face adult responsibilities, unexpected revelations threaten their decade-long friendship.
