Kartemquin staff will be speaking at two panels at the Chicago International Film Festival on October 23rd as a part of the film festival's Industry Days conference. Kartemquin's own Beckie Stocchetti will be speaking on a panel entitled, 'Making an Impact: How to Build Coalitions, Engage Communities, and Change the World Through Film' from 1:00-2:00 pm on the 23rd.
As Director of Engagement and Programs here at Kartemquin, Beckie works to build successful strategies for providing producers with critical advice and support around audience engagement and social impact as well as fundraising throughout the production and distribution process. She has lead outreach campaigns, worked with non-profit film services organizations, and has freelanced in various capacities for film productions in Chicago, Taiwan, and India.
Also speaking at the Industry Days conference, Kartemquin's Tim Horsburgh will be on the panel entitled, 'Crowdfunding and Crowdfinding: How to Raise Money and Prime Your Prospective Audience' at 11:30-12:30 pm also on the 23rd. As Director of Communications and Distributions at Kartemquin Films, Tim has driven all external marketing, public relations, and social media for all of our films as well as overseeing distribution strategy, working with filmmakers on festivals, theatrical, broadcast and digital releases. He has also spoken widely on documentary film marketing and distribution, media advocacy, crowdfunding, and community engagement at film festivals across the country. Tim lead the crowdfunding campaigns for Life Itself, Saving Mes Aynak, Generation Food, and for many more Kartemquin films.
